We plan to continue offering our very popular 100% wool socks knitted from the wool of our own Shetlands as well as the wool/nylon blend socks and there is a nice selection of colour patterns of our heirloom quality hand-woven blankets all crafted at a small woolen mill in Canada.
We are very excited to announce that we have shipped several pounds of raw wool to a small mill in Kansas, USA and are working with the owner to fashion shawls, ruanas, capes, and lighter weight throws.
Bonnie, in Martinsburg, MO is working on new batches of roving and batting.
We are often asked how we can offer such an array of colours without dyeing the wool. The photo above answers that question. Not only do Shetlands come in 11 colours, but then add in the ability of the craftsman to blend the fibres and the patterns and colours are nearly endless.

Shipping of wool products is pretty reasonably priced via USPS. But we can use Fedex if you prefer.

Welcome to Sunrise Pastures!
Spinners, felters, weavers, and knitters enjoy the soft feel of wool from Shetland Sheep. Additionally, we have found a small custom woolen mill in Canada which takes our wool and produces 100% wool and wool blend (30% nylon added for durability) and beautiful handwoven 100% Shetland wool blankets in a lovely array of natural wool colours and patterns. Roving and battings are produced right here in Missouri by Bonnie at ABC Ranch. Our blankets, socks, roving, and batting are not dyed, but rather, reflect the natural colours of wool produced by "Emma, Spice, Phoebe, Jewel," and others.

Raised without grain, pesticides, or other 'crutches' deemed necessary by the commodity sheep trade, our Shetlands thrive on the green hills of Missouri, which interestingly, has weather and conditions similar to their native Shetland Isles. Free access to pasture and range, keeps our Shetlands healthy with little care other than a bit of attention and neck or back scratching (watch their little tails wag!).
