1 lb ground beef or lamb 1 large onion 1 can each of kidney, lima, red, or black beans, drained (or the equivalent in dried beans prepared) 1/2 cup turbinado or other unprocessed sugar 1/4 cup catsup 1/4 cup barbeque sauce 2 tablespoons mustard 2 tablespoons molasses 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Brown ground meat and drain if necessary. Add remainder of ingredients, bring to gentle boil, then simmer for a while. Maybe an hour. Stirring occasionally to keep from sticking.
